The seller was an old woman from Miami, Florida.
According to MSNBC, (this menas it's for real) E-bay had deliberately post back the auction last November 2004 after it inadvertently pulled the auction out from the list, thinking it was just a hoax.
The GoldenPalace.Com, an olnine casino, had won the auction. Executives of the company said that $28,000 was nothing compared to the privilege of getting to own this 10-year old half-bitten sandwich bearing the face of Virgin Mary.
